Older than the Plain of Jars and their riddle nonetheless unsolved, the standing stones have stood towards time for hundreds of years within the province of Huapanh Laos. Nonetheless to at the present time no person is aware of what they’re. Why they’re there. What’s their goal. Locals informed us many fields of those stones up till not too long ago existed.. however have been demolished when setting up roads. Now solely are few fields of those mammoth stones exist..

Thanks Todd. Even though I was over there in Udon from 1998-2005 and made regular trips to Lao, I never even heard of these Standing Stones. I am glad Lao is more open and accessible now so that you can make these amazing videos and document things before they are gone forever. Take care Mate and keep those videos coming. My Thai wife and I make it a date here in West Virginia to watch together every one of your videos!
Todd what freight are the trucks carrying? Anyways the people are so friendly and helpful, treasured travels. Neenee and mina so funny 😂 at the mysterious standing stones.luv the music and black and whites, we'll put together mate.👍🦘.
Todd I want you to find out what them standing rocks and round disks are all about. Maybe a architectural group should’ve contacted to come and have a look at them. Curious minds think ant to know right.
The site should be protected?
Ancient rituals? Who knows?
The dessert they were making reminds me of Japanese dango! It is made in a very similar way, you have to pound it to get a nice sticky consistency.
My guess is they were some sort of security wall.
Guess you don't want to know

we have a rock called crying stone in kenya
grave yard markers and the flat ones are probably where they burned the bodies or buried the belongings underneath. also looks like a good place for a toll booth you want to go thru you got to pay. 50 years from now these videos will be priceless. that lady telling mina that shes loved at the market is how i think we all feel.
Excellent video. Thanks for it. I hope to be planning a return to Laos soon and intended to return to the Plain of Jars. I knew nothing about these stones and if I come back will certainly make the effort to travel and see them. Thanks for another great video
Tod , I like the music you put on most of your videos. Is there a place to access this music ?
I'd be curious to see underneath the disk stones
I did a bit of research with those stones and turned out it was an early doritos factory that got shut down by the unions over a pay dispute…Damn unions
They call it hmong pizza…lol jk…its sticky rice mashed up.
What a Great Name for a Rock Band .
Standing Stones.
Any Connection to Rolling Stones
amazing and I never knew about the standing stones
Great trip and love you're interactions with the Lao villagers. I'm thinking of planning a trip to Laos with 2 of my now adult kids.😊
They gave to you before they knew that you were going to give to them. My wife used to make the pounded rice using the foot/leg powered rice husker.
What a friendly, happy, healthy community, Those veggies looked amazing. I live for tomato on toast with salt and pepper. Everything in this vlog i loved, the small community with the sticky rice were so welcoming and giving. That was a day to remember.🥝🍅🥑🍆🥔🥕🌽🌰🧄🥬🥒🫑🫑🌍🌎🌏🌐🐔🦆😜🤪😝
Carnac stones in France are similar, if you have time to look at them.

Wow, Todd, that is one of your best yet, top 5 at least.
You make my day with every new glimpse of this wonderful country.
Counting the days til I can go back again.
Love Laos
Hi Todd I wrote quite a long comment when this vlog was first published but I must have forgotten to press send, as I cannot find it now. Anyway, from what I can gather the holes which you were prodding with your measuring stick originally were covered by circular stones which have been removed by people looking for artefacts. The article which I cannot find now also said that these holes probably contained urns with ashes of the deceased. However, the same article warned about some sites still having unexploded bombs in them, so be careful where you poke your stick!!! God bless you all ❤🙏
Hi Todd your videos and the never-ending story of Laos just keeps getting better. 👍🏼
She's So cute
All too many mother truckers taking resources to the belt n road projects
The Markets looked very orderly.Whats the egg shells kept for ? Interesting site you explored.Standing Stones believed to be part of a ceremonial funeral, but not 100% authenticity .
