Mullaperiyar dam is a masonry gravity dam on confluence of Mullayur and Periyar river. Located on Cardomom hills of Western ghats, done to share water from Periyar river of Kerala to Vangai River of TN . Though present in KR , operation and maintenance by TN as per 999years lease agreement during British Rule. Periyar National park is near it.

Manipur is a North Eastern state of India. Very Strategic for projects like
Indian Myamar Trilateral Highway, connecting India with SE Asia.
Manipur has been burning from Last two years, there are many factors behind this & government failure is also seen.

Current state
(1) Humanitarian crisis -> In
Manipur people are displaced, have lost their livelihoods
& now living in Govt Buildings or safe houses.
There
* food, water is not supplied properly
* Healthcare assistance are laging
* Sanitation is not proper -> breeding grounds for disease

2 Administrative issues ->
(i) lack of
Healthcare
Education
Rehabilitation support -> building anger
and anti state sentiments .
(ii) with AFSPA applied
Movement of goods has been stricted
-> inflation

(i) & (ii) can lead to further insurgency
in region and can escalate Militancy .

3 Political instability ->
President rule has been applied due to failure of state machinery and biasness
of Government -> in administration
ex ->
* police missing in Action
* More than 2 years -> no stabilization

4 Security concerns -> instability in
State is in contemporary with Myanmar
Refugee crisis ,people are illegally entering the Manipur because Borders are porous
(Rivers , Hills , Dense forest )

conclusion -> Manipur restoration is very
crucial for India in terms of its strategic
location, good governance & humanitarian
aid should be given to people & Refugee
crisis need to be dealt.

Telecom infrastructure is the communication enabling sector .
Telecom Disruption can have socio political as well as economic consequences.

Recently, CDRI has recommend for the
Telecom's Disaster Resilient infrastructure.

Factors making Telecom Vulnerable.
① over ground infrastructure -> cell towers and
submarine lines , telecom components are connecting usually over ground vulnerable to Rain , Heat and cold waves etc.
Especially in coastal region very vulnerable to cyclones , Tsunamis and Landslides .

② Lacks repairment -> Most telecom lines,
towers have components which faces dust stroms , Rain, heavy winds (heat waves), insolation
becomes weak > due to non repairment
->
becomes Vulnerable to cyclones, Hails etc

③ power supply -> Mostly its via cables with towers. These are susceptible to weathering , high velocity winds and cyclones , Tsunamis.
-> critical because its disruption
breakdowns Telecommunication infrastructure.

Measures taken to be taken.

① Disaster Resistant infrastructure -> with powerful technology , high quality
Material

② Tower inspection -> to have Monitory system to track strength of infrastructure, Annual checks for improvement .

③ Power supply -> do cell towers have generated and batteries but they are still vulnerable to floods cyclone and rain.

Need to build structures above ground with wind resilient engineering and with Water proof technology

Conclusion –
CDRI recommendation should be realised with policy making and collaboration of institutions for high grade technology .

I think manipur crisis need help like trump who helps iran.
