Secretary-Basic of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, delivered a speech on the opening session of the ASEAN Workshop on Sustainable Improvement (AWSD) 2025, in Sunway College, Malaysia, on 13-14 January 2025, together with H.E. YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Power Transition and Water Transformation of Malaysia and Professor Jeffrey Sachs, President of the UN Sustainable Improvement Options Community.
In his speech SG Dr. Kao emphasised the significance of forging strong partnerships amongst governments, civil society, the personal sector and academia to make sure sustainable and inclusive improvement in ASEAN. The Workshop introduced collectively regional leaders and consultants to discover collaborative methods for advancing sustainable improvement in ASEAN. Dr. Kao reaffirmed ASEAN’s dedication to accelerating the progress of reaching the Sustainable Improvement Objectives (SDGs). By sturdy partnerships and shared advantages, ASEAN goals to realize lasting sustainable and inclusive progress for the area.
