Ternate (ANTARA) – The Social Affairs Ministry on Thursday handed out staple items and disbursed Rp320 million (US$20.3 thousand) in money support for these affected by the flash floods that lashed Ternate metropolis, North Maluku.
Head of the ministry’s Social Safety for Pure Catastrophe Victims (PSKBA) Work Group, Dika Yudistira, on Thursday, stated that it’s necessary for the federal government to offer compensation to the kin of those that died within the flood, which struck town in late August 2024.
“At present, the Ministry of Social Affairs will fulfill the state’s duty by handing out such compensations,” he added.
Yudistira then knowledgeable that the North Maluku and Ternate governments contributed to the availability of the help.
“We want to thank the North Maluku provincial authorities and Ternate municipal authorities for amassing the requisite knowledge and offering the Ministry of Social Affairs with different types of administrative help to make this support provision potential,” he stated.
Appearing regional secretary of North Maluku, Abubakar Abdullah, and Ternate performing mayor Tahmid Wahab had been amongst those that attended the help handover occasion.
