Unusual issues have been taking place on this Thai neighborhood – to individuals’s well being and land. The trigger, specialists say, is a harmful unfold of poisons from throughout the border in Laos. Learn the complete report by CNA’s Jack Board: https://cna.asia/3SXIzk3

A video fabricated from the Hongsa wiki page. The fast-tempo electronic music at the beginning of this video is meant to grab interest in what is to follow. The many combined video clips to make the documentary were individually selected to bring substance to a rather plain wiki article. The lady picking coffee beans as well as the opening clip featuring white, puffy clouds billowing up into the sky from a distant horizon, reminiscent of Indian smoke signals, are all the product of a good editing software program.
Lignite coal is approximately 30 per cent carbon, but what percentage of the coal is mercury? Sadly, neither wiki nor this video explains how lignite coal transforms into mercury which is then deposited into neighbouring rivers ,streams and lakes.
funny as thailand loves to burn forest and crops each year which causes health problems all over thailand and nobody does anything about it, EVER
These beautiful local people, need to start drinking as much cucumber juice as they can to help with the mercury and heavy metals. Even if the Thai government brings cucumbers from further away provinces.🙏
corruption in thai for this mega project
Thailand is too corrupt nothing gonna change..
Interesting talking points and much validity to the topic at hand, but is there air, water, soil, analytical data available to share? Is there background surveys taking place, what's the average pH of the rain compared to the rest of the country/surrounding area? Engineers and environmental scientists can figure this all out and come up with a solution, but it won't be cheap.

This coal fired powerplant is located to the south west of Chiang Mai and had been in operation since 1978.
Due to prevailing winds of the region, the south west monsoon wind blows toward Chiang Mai region.
Was there any investigation conducted by the "jounnalist" featured here in this video to the "effects" of this particular power plant on the effects of lives in the NE Thailand Region?
Perhaps there are data from the relevant Thai Authorities that the "journalist" should look at.
There could be a solution to use HHO generators to clean the emissions of the plant. Check out Clean Energy Innovator Peter Griffiths CEO of YBG

Oil companies hit with backlash after bringing in $200 billion in profits last year
It possible it is from the bombs dropped on Laos during the Vietnam war?
This guy needs a shave. He should get into the practice of shaving once each morning, now that he is past puberty.
That pollution will only happen when the wind is blowing south. But most of the year the wind is south or south east -west.
The greed and arrogance of some Thai Companies like RATCH,Banpu and other is mind blowing.Money over morals. This is only one example of so many in Thailand and neighboring countries. Thainess. Stop visiting and invest in Thailand,Laos,Burma,Cambodia.
Well done. This stuff is too often swept under the rug, especially in this part of the world. Im sure that the villagers really appreciate your efforts.
Please name and shame the Thai banks involved. Do the Laos authorities know about this report and that they are 'on the radar'? The least to be done is 'washing' of the emissions (though the 'wash' will probably be discharged into a nearby river).
It's also happening in S.korea outside of Seoul in the farmlands. But there people are being poisoned by bad foreigners putting something in the food or soil. Please investigate
Its is so sad to see one of the most beautiful Southeast Asia country like Thailand becoming one of the deadliest places to breath in air.
Personally this isn’t only a continental concern but every country from around the globe should come together under one international organization and put a legitimate law with heavy penalties issued to stop all industrial poisoning air being allowed from irresponsible business owners. 😢😮😢
It is definitely the corruption in the Thai government who also took part in increasing higher risk to the poisonous mercury.
We mentioned this in some of our comments recently because we saw how many Chinese industries as well as factories from china are now popping up -like a mushroom all over the Thailand.
Today the over taking of Chinese investment in less developed countries surrounding Thailand like Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia along with the Thai’s own toxic businesses industries = will definitely sooner rather than later kill off the Thai people from poisonous causes within the respiratory disease.
We all knew that Chinese as well as Thai big business owners themselves aren’t the best people to care for environmental matters when it comes down to profit. These types of people often find every possible ways to avoid investing in the long expensive procedure that is needed in environmental regulation safeguards.
Unfortunately, from this failure in sustaining a good natural ecosystems conditions for the local population have recently become one of Thailand biggest problems.
So far, such concerns on the issues haven’t yet been addressed or investigated properly between the nation involved. The people in this region of the world seemed to be worried more about money economics a lot more than the health of our planets.😢
They keep showing video images of water cooling towers emitting condensed H20….the story is legit but there is no need to overdramatize it, either.
Article does not mention the fact that the power plant lacks a common component used to remove 99.99% of mercury in stack emissions.
Called a Selective Catalyst Scrubber.
Just get the Thai conglomerate to install it.
What do you think about all the rice fields near by? Unsafe to eat?
For what, for your neiboring!
China once again being a arrogant neighbour
And here we are paying a stupid carbon tax…
Don’t think the coal has any mercury 😂
Let’s get this right then.
A Thai owned power plant is constructed and now operational in Laos but the fall out of mercury is harming the Thais and agriculture 😮
What was the reason for constructing this plant in Laos in the first place?
It’s definitely backfired!
mediacorp from Singapore…..i see…😅…
For NGO ..more problem = more money…?no problem=no job?.
Thailand also has a corrupt government the kingdom system, bad people don't want to leave the seats
Just like the British did to the Irish with Sellafield.
There is a much larger lignite power plant in Mae Mo, Lampang Province. Any ill effect from this one? Your “story” is inaccurate and incomplete! Phooey.
I was there last year for 3 months. Met and made a few friends. They are sending me pictures about the bad fire and smoke . I everyone is suffering and the government ignore it..
The coal must be very high in heavy metals and nothing being done to blend in better coal or remove the heavy metals. The people in the area and those consuming the crops and drinking the water will end up with much higher cancer rates.
Why? … Very easy lol. Selfishness and greediness
They are making gundam
India is much worse
Solution is to install air filtration and proper disposable of collected toxins
Every person can have their own fuel-less electric generator. Tom Bearden
We want solar panels and wind turbines like in Germany and UK! Otherwise we will block the traffic and demand our citizen rights!
Sounds like they have been spraying there
Never get power plant to pay. The power plant already paid the politicians
U eFfed up. Should have waited till mercury was over the limit to start complaining
I am in Thailand
Kinda like shitting in your bed then go back to sleep.
mfs will destroy every little piece of this life
Mercury Harvesting and CO2 from Coal Powered Power Plant are the main reasons.
It is good time to leave the country. I understand long time. I am happy to come home healthy, even all countries have problems. Time is not easy for all people.
