Its makes me mad and sad how the US bombed the shit out of this country and until now the UXO are still a real threat.
I can imagine Ukrane will also be like this after the war, there will be a lot of UXO in their land and Russia wont even give a shit to clear them

50 years after the war and it is beyond spoons and boats, it’s the people, real humans that are still being harmed and killed by the indiscriminate bombing . Laos was a Democratic country during the war and the US bomb the hell out of it and the question is why? Ho chi Minh trail dodges in and out between Laos and Vietnamese borders but the US pretty much bomb the whole country yet Vietnam, the country which was the country the US was fighting suffered much less. Videos like this needed be done and appreciate but with more historically details. My family is safe in the US but there are still too many Lao people suffering from the war 50+ years on. For me this brings back raw anger but I don’t know who to direct my anger, so little is being done to clear the land of the bombs to be productive by the US and the Lao/ Vietnamese communist government. Remember, Laos was a Democratic country during the war/ bombing. Most Laotians and the then government was against current communist government. Many were willing to fight but in 1975 the US packed up and left.

About a decade ago, an engineering consulting firm that I was working for had a contract to design and build a mine in Laos for a certain mineral. To get to this place, we have to fly to North Vietnam, and take a 4 hour drive to it. I was surprised when the engineers told me that one of the first thing which was required, to get the services of a demining outfit to take of unexploded ordnance in the mine area. It seemed that the area was still covered with unexploded ordnance from the Vietnam War and sparsely populated because of that. The demining outfit cost a fair chunk of the construction budget as well as a long period of time before we could actually move in for construction.
