Thai women dominate in society bc they like money more than children. It’s a historically matriarchal society. Unlike in Western countries the current working age generation of Thais are much better off than the previous generation. The desire for wealth leads to aversion of family, who are seen as a drain on personal wealth and lifestyle of convenience. It’s not a cost of living issue at all. Thais are wealthier than ever.
There are five interesting phenomena across the entire world happening at the same time:
1) Population crisis
2) Male loneliness epidemic
3) Single childfree women recorded as the happiest demographic globally
4) Capitalism is failing
5) Patriarchy is failing (patriarchy is one of the four legs of the stool of the world's disastrous dominant economic system: capitalism; white supremacy; colonialism; patriarchy)
So as these systems simultaneously fail it is unsurprising that the result is a massive drop in fertility regardless of various government efforts to force women to exist solely as incubators for producing the progeny of and serving men.
If you want to know why abortion and other reproductive rights are under attack, this is why. If you want to know why there is a rise in misogyny across males of all political groups (including leftish males) along with an increasing popularity of misogynist content via podcasts and other mediums, this is why. If you want to know why governments are cracking down on dissent so they can continue impoverishing people while crippling their ability to revolt, this is why.
The upside of all of this is that the old systems are all falling apart.
The downside is that as they fall apart, the evils of patriarchy; capitalism; white supremacy; and colonialism are manifesting themselves in the human population in increasingly unhinged and dangerous ways.
This includes a huge increase in male violence toward women and other misogynistic behavior, which makes women less safe around men and more likely to remain single by choice.
Stay safe out there, women! Just a general reminder to everyone: the population crisis is not women's problem. No man is owed a legacy or children. Men are not entitled to women or to progeny. And women have no social obligation whatsoever to continue the species. If men want women to partner with them and have their children, men need to evolve into better and more deserving humans. Period.

Having children in Thailand isn’t difficult for Thai people. The most important point that people are thinking is how to raise their children and give them good education and so on. If they are not enough to provide good basic needs they rather not to have one.
Universal basic income for everyone! there's so much money in the world, birthing more is NOT the solution as it messes up our planet and ecosystem. Planet before humans! Now in developed countries everyone is getting higher education,moving to urban cities and working corporate jobs instead of farming which would favor more children. Now countries have 2 choses. Prevent education, stay very poor and agrarian ,or develope and get old.
If you aren’t stable on your own why bother to have a child

The care facilities will keep on increasing. Whether with children or without children, many old folks will rely on such facilities and with their own money. We are not in the old days anymore. This is a society whereby grown children are not capable of taking care of their old parents, whether it is physically or financially.
Therefore, to those without children, my advice is to save up for your retirement.
And to those with children, don't count on them. Save up for your retirement so you will not be sorely disappointed if your children cannot take care of you. Last…please please please… …don't give all your money and properties to your children. Don't be stupid! Make a will. Your assets can go to them after you die, not before.

Why bring them to suffer with low quality of life in Thailand. The divorce rate here is getting higher and higher. There's a saying "Women who would have a child must be prepared to be a single mom"
Ppl graduated abroad now earn same salary as thais that graduated from thai public uni, unlike in the past. Companies can’t afford to pay cuz they can’t make money here.
Many companies, especially foreign companies, stopped to invest in Thailand. And bad economy makes things even more difficult.
Bangkok is super crowded as salary rate is better than rural areas. Everything is expensive compared to how much we can earn.
I travel to Thailand almost every year, but maybe not this year. But I am part of the problem, in my opinion there are too many tourists and I am one of them. But the government's goals are high; they want to double the number of tourists, which could give a boost to the weakening economy.
There were 39.6 million tourists in 2019 before the pandemic.
But tourists are picky. It is clear that prices are always rising, but they must not rise too much. So how does Thailand get out of the trap of an aging population and increase birth rates? I don't know it.
If wages were to be adjusted and a pension system established, the costs would be enormous, who would pay for that? If next year's vacation in Thailand were 50% more expensive than this year, who else would come to Thailand? So everything has to stay cheap to a certain extent otherwise mass tourism won't work. This means wages remain low.
I don't see any solution from the government yet and since corruption is still said to be high, even though massive action is being taken to combat it, a lot of capital if it existed might simply end up in the pockets of a few people.
And even if I, the tourist, am seen by many as "rich" and come from a country that has rather poor forecasts for the future, we also have fewer and fewer children. There is simply a lack of everything, schools, teachers, kindergartens. Only the higher earners can afford children or the very poor who are financed by the welfare state with unemployment benefits.
The middle class also thinks twice about whether they want to and plan to become parents or whether they would rather invest the money in their company, in a new car or a long-distance trip or simply in their own pension because they cannot rely on the state pension either.
But it's the same in many countries. I know a couple from America, he was in the military, she was a teacher, lived in San Diego.

They moved to Bangkok with their daughter where they can live a much better life. The only thing they can't afford is the international school for their daughter, which would cost more than $1,500 per month. So she teaches her daughter herself, as Americans they are allowed to do that.

This is everywhere. The world is coming to an end y'all. The problem is human beings do not want to be poor. In the past people accepted poverty as a part of life. God and family came first. I think this will only change if governments give people incentives to have families as well as offer free birth control and childcare.

Same thing happening in a third world country like Myanmar(Burma), neighbouring to Thailand. The thing is that many people do not effort to take care of children. Many couple have only one or two children. In the past, most of the families have many children, even dozen of children.
If you can't afford to have a child then don't😂. Life is already tough you don't have to pass it over to the next generation. Gone were the days that old beliefs (asia) having a lot of children is an investment when you get old
Govt and businessmen need more labour force. That's why they worry. Now it's your choice. You wanna give birth make your child labour. So then rich can become more rich. 1. They don't want to have the responsibility to be a parents.
2. They are not financially ready.
3. They don't see any future for the next generation.
