You are not correct wholly…if it was not for the investments from SK and Japan in the beginning, they could not export to USA, the USA is getting most of the benefits as they import cheap goods, without any investment. The drop in exchange rate is critical also, as it keeps goods prices low, but it does not benefit the average worker in Vietnam. There are a number of factors for this, and not all good, even thought the Dong is pegged to the US dollar.
