The ASEAN Specific trains – a cargo rail service connecting Malaysia to Thailand, Laos and China – have made their inaugural journeys in each instructions, arriving at their respective locations this week – Selangor in Malaysia and Chongqing in China. PH is eye boggling with deep regret and jealousy.
Singapore stands to benefit greatly from this railway route and should contribute towards construction of the line outside its borders.
Hopefully Singapore accept it and don't try to sabotage the project.

Malaysia is center of ASEAN, bordering with 9 countries by land and water. ASEAN mainland 6 members. Malaysian can speak Melayu, English and Mandarin. BRICS+ framework := Thai + Msia = 104 mil population same status as = Viet 100 mil = Phino 110 million.

Smart move MY n CN. Without extending the line down south they isolated SG and hence reduced competition. Furthermore, when this rail is fully developed cargo ships that shipping goods from EU and ME to CN can bypass SG all together by just docking at a Malaysian port unload their goods onto this rail system and sail off. It will also free up traffic in the SCS and lots of docking space in Chinese ports for ships from other places.

It's a strategic move, land route, for Asia Major country. Secondary route to ocean route, and it's cheaper, less risky and moving to BRICS.
Waiting for ECRL…2 ports will be connected between Kuantan Port at east coast and Port Kelang at west coast of Malaysia peninsula

Malay and Thai need to change old rail lines to standard gauge rail line. So, train can go from Malay to China directly without stopping.
Malaysia should upgrade the old colonial era meter railway. It's narrow, low speed and light duty tracks. An upgrade to standard gauge is more is more appropriate. Imagine from this Railway, freight, cargo and passenger can travel.all.the way.to Europe , Russia, Africa. Uk and Middle East
