When this govt took over in 2014 the economy was peaking with 8 to 10 per and GDP to 2 trillion with gold at 500 t and foreign reserves at 550 bil. Congress brought from minus 43 trillion pounds asset loss in 1947 with no foreign reserves gold reserves no economic planning and 4 pillars of the economy absent. We had no food and under Pl 480 used to get the worst wheat from us for 8 years. Congress built up all four pillars of the economy and raised revenue to bring up India from -43 trillion pounds. If one calculates the revenue involved in all these we see that the average revenue generated becomes twice that of BJPs. All BJP would have done is to just follow policies before 2014 and continue with a bit of comfort to the public through interstate infra development. India has a total road network of 6 million kms against China's 5.8 million and we were the third largest network of rail and roads. All were handed over on a platter with the highest technocrats and huge industrial and IT hubs established. Had BJP followed 230 bil to 250 bil annual increment of GDP we would have reached 10 trillion by now. India's strength is its population and the previous govt smartly structured economy focussing on education and higher learning and guaranteed employment through nationalised corporations and financial institutions and distribution of wealth through the profits of these huge labour-intensive corporations and industries with educational institutions of higher learning available 24 hrs of the day for working class to get an additional degree. The literacy rose to 74% from zero with free education.

Education and higher education and upgrading existing industries to high-tech versions carrying our R&D in nationalised corporations putting up pilot plants and handing over to the private sector fall under item 1 and is a must.
The finer roads comfortable travel and entertainment sectors and building places of worship etc fall under item 2 except high-speed trains and inter-state roads and providing finances for private industry set up etc.
The current govt did a blunder in scrapping good results fetching economic policies dumping EPU into a bin basket and copied Western economic policies of developed nations and concentrated on socio -infra structure alone neglecting other areas of development. Notwithstanding instead of going for private investors concentrated on privatisation without upgrading education system and uplifting industries by providing with loans which resulted in domestic consumption increasing as well as products of internal consumption like pakodas. WHAT IS NEEDED IS EXTERNAL EARNING THROUGH EXPORTS.
The concentration of govt in building up private investors and overloading them with govt mechanisms to run the business. Not able to cope with duplicating govt responsibility their loans fell under NPL and giovt had another headache of waiving them with public tax money huge amounts of few lakh crores. This resulted in private partners looking for partners to invest and in this process govt had to lose some assets and had to increase the prices of their products. A doub;le blow to public and dragging the GDP to underperform with huge external PUBLIC Borrowings.
THIS GOVT IS PLANNING FOR a KNOWLEDGE-BASED ECONOMY without increasing literacy from 74 to 94 in par with China, upgrading tech in industries, and providing education of higher learning.
They brought in privatization with technology at primitive levels. A PREMATURE ACTION WHICH WILL HAVE SERIOUS REPERCUSSIONS on export-oriented privatisation.
WE should not have brought an economic adviser from outside like world bank as he does not know the style of economy we have and underestimates the huge facilities already available like 21 corporations of either Govt of India undertaking or enterprises existing. The private partners instead of using these facilities went on buying and selling- a trade.Not able to download work for the manufacturing sector leading to unemployment and a drop in technocrats etc. Many more serious damages are done and if not corrected we will be stuck forever in this muddle.
The basic problem is this government do not have expertise on running a unique economy of huge population and Per capita GDP based economy to become larger economy.

China didn’t compete with Indian or anyone else. They focused on competing among themselves. Therefore any attempt to compare Indian and China or competition with China will likely prove false. China is focusing on her people, citizens’ well being. China always believe in fair and win-win for all partners. Therefore comparing China with others, it’s simply not feasible. There’s no point in being jealous with China. Be their friend and you will see the win in your economy.

China is only one country of one ethnic people of nearly 95% Hans speaking one tongue , the Mandarin . It has totalitarian Govt governed by One Party viz the Communist Party , which does not give any Fundamental Rights to its people .
India is a country of countries of different ETHNIC people, speaking different tongues , forcefully bound by the Constitution of India .
Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru wisely chose Parliamentary Form of Democracy for India offering Fundamental Rights to all the ethnic people and the Right to Elect the Govt of Choice .
