A methanol poisoning outbreak that killed six vacationers within the Laos city of Vang Vieng has a brand new supply, with a manufacturing unit in Vientiane believed to be behind the outbreak.
The manufacturing unit has been closed by authorities, with the house owners arrested alongside practically a dozen employees on the Nana Backpackers hostel the place many of the victims stayed.
It comes as heartbreaking footage emerges of Melbourne buddies Bianca Jones and Holly Bowles, the 2 Australian youngsters who died.
Methanol is very poisonous and as little as one shot might be deadly. It’s tough to tell apart from ethanol, the alcohol present in beer, wine, and spirits, as a result of it’s colourless, odourless, and tasteless.

Laos is a beautiful place. Luang Prabang is my favorite of the locations there. Haven't been interested in visiting Vang Vieng because of its reputation. So saddened to hear about the senseless deaths caused by the greed, deception and uncaring of the producers of the "alcohol" that wasn't safe and the owners and staff of the hostel that let it happen and hid the truth when it could have saved others health and lives. I'm glad to hear this report of what actually happened. The rumors don't do any good. Eliminating the problem needs to be the focus. Hopefully, they will be brought to justice and deported.
