Political interference spoiled goa' economy, example pooja at beach.
You pick any beach in Goa, you can't find a proper toilet. No road or no good road to any beach in Goa. This is how Goa treats the tourists. I visited Goa at least 4 times, each time a week, I decided not to go to Goa again, their economy is totally depended on Tourism, but what they contribute to develop is ZERO. I must say that any tourism place in India is known for cheating and looting people.
You can find the most Rude people out there.

It is important to address the question, why has the tourist numbers reduced. Is taxi mafia not real? Aren't the beach shacks overpriced and fleece customers? Don't the 2-wheeler renting services act like mafia and skin customers? Aren't the hotels & accomodations overpriced? Aren't the flight costs costlier than nearby international destinations? Staying in denial will only worsen this. I see some responding that it is the tourists who are responsible for everything thats wrong with Goa, in that case, introduce a permit system, profile every tourist and allow who you think has right credentials to enter Goa. Good luck with that.

I know there are problems with Goa. But people doesn't understand that suddenly this issue arise because of fake propaganda spreading by china. So if u don't wanna visit Goa. That's okay but still go for other places in India. There are thousands other better option available. Don't fall in Chinese traps.

I've lived in Mumbai, I've been to goa, loved it. But the constant harassment from street vendors, how rude they are, makes me not want to return to Goa. I go to Turkiye for holidays because there are no Indians there

I am working in Goa as central government employees and definitely say that GOa is most expensive in india and full of frauds .
We booked a travel package with a cab service in Dabolim, Goa. However, our cab was cancelled on our return due to interference from local taxi mafias. We were forced to take an overpriced taxi and nearly missed our flight.
Restaurants are so expensive in Goa. One of my friends and I went to this restaurant, the bill was 6k. 500 was just service charge!!
Recently i visited to Thailand in phuket we booked patong heritage hotel from Agoda app for 3 days everything was clean and hygiene and they were cleaning room each day and even they provided continental breakfast it costed 1300rs per day and i have also visited to Goa and Vietnam. In Goa we booked room for 1500rs per day for room which was not clean no daily cleaning no breakfast. Even in vietnam we stayed room for 1000rs which was far better than Goa. Overall i like to say INDIA should start working on this issue seriously not only Goa it is same all over our country even i visited Puducherry same issue.
the non existent civic sense, overpriced and the constant haggling provides no respite to weary folks looking for a nice calm vacation.

I still have have a bias towards goa mainly because of the connections I have build over there over the years but most of my friends today would rather go to the north-east now or SEA countries then hop through all the hurdles Goa throws at you.

I agree. Especially these Airlines have screwed the tourism. The exorbitant rates of flights actually are back breaking. But much more responsible is the government Especially Ministry of Tourism and Aviation who keep their eyes closed. Idiotic Nation and Policies. What shit can we expect in this country. After paying 30% income tax , what we get is middle finger

I stay nearby goa. I can tell you, goa has too much fraud ppl. Also, hotels & food are overpriced (with bad quality). Problem is, goans should realise we’re loosing tourism. Look at Rajasthan, they respect tourist, they believe tourists are god for them. But goans, want to loot the tourist.
Goa is good so are the ppl but there are scams from the ppl who are running hotels, beach bars, water sports , adventure packages and then there are always unruly tourists who spoil it for everyone ! Overall its the worthiness for the amt you spend when travelling especially with family !
The Fine People of Goa have long forgotten 'how to make an honest buck' and have conveniently accepted the value system of cheating, racism and crime. No wonder tourism is plummeting…why work when you can sell coconuts to actual 'nuts'

Pls. Don't compair to Thailand, indonesia, srilanka, we are not providing, crocodile, or other insects foods, our goans food is very much different from these countries. Goa is small state. And goas population is about १६, lakh. Crazy tourister never think about hotel rates or transportation. They want only enjoyment. I have got my own experience some foreign tourister staying in private rental houses for several months. By paying huge money. And when they leave, they are sending their friends in same address. Once they like they will come back again and again.goas chapora village is very popular for entertain European. They like goan food, music, and goan culture, and goan languese. And specialy esrael, Russian feels goa like their home. So they ome every year. But because of lamanis, karnataka thiefs harassing them tourist flow cones down, this season many theft loots and murders happens in goa, all are non goans involvement. But we goans are spoiling our image.
Goa is number 1 State in unemployment… Goan people leaving Goa.

As a Goan and a Beneficiary of the tourism industry I welcome this news with arms wide open.
Not because I dislike Indian tourists, I believe everyone is made in the image of God.
But as someone living in Goa. The negative effects of tourism are highly unbearable. Cost of living, real estate, has gone unreasonably high. Everything has become highly commercialised and our infrastructure can’t handle it. Drugs, noise pollution, accidents is at its highest.
I feel Goa should target tourism like France, Italy and Spain which we are fully capable of and let go of Thailand type tourist.
North Indians especially come to Goa they don’t like to eat our food, enjoy our culture and language or even our way of life.
They come here eat their North Indian cuisine, listen to their North Indian music, drink cheap alcohol and enjoy cheap pr@$titutes.
I have much better experiences with South Indians, North East Indians and Bengalis.

I went Sri Lanka last year, man it’s far far better in every aspect, but most heartwarming was the hospitality of people, very nice people and welcoming plus despite being poor country it’s far more clean and civilised than Goa/India in general

GOA is very very overrated tourist spot. I have been to Srilanka with my wife and daughter in 1 lakh 25 thousand for a week and it was most memorable visit. Visiting Goa is a nightmare irrespective how much we spend considering the quality of service is absolutely like a poor african country with rude locals and taxi drivers.

Goa food quality is pathetic. Prices are exorbitant. Damage is alreday done…need immediate political intervention..state Govt should make strict rules for eateries and stay places. They should actually reduce these places.
Liquor manufacturer are erupted like grass everywhere. Gov should ban fake liquer manufacturer. Strict exice rule should be made and followed. There are too much brand selling flaouver alcohol in the fancy name of Fenni, Gin, Vodak etc….horrible
