Hello of us, NatNomad right here. An ex-Buddhist monk from Laos with an enormous dream of seeing the world. All through my time for over 10 years being a monk I stored asking myself this one query “What life is like on the market past the monastery?” And due to this query alone made me take an enormous step in 2014 after I lastly say goodbye to my great monastic life.
And now I am doing what I’ve all the time wished to do. Although I’m not fairly positive if I can say that I am residing my dream however you realize what I am loving my new journey.
Please be certain that to stay with me so we are able to discover new unique locations collectively.
Let the adventures start!
Thanks a lot on your assist.

Belt and road initiative, sound like, Laos owes so much debt to China….billions.
Looks like a ghost town.
Was that a Wise card you used before using a BCEL card? Things have gotten easier for me in Laos since I got a BCEL account but the Wise card has been great for travel, pretty sad if both aren't working in the area.
Iβm Lao too but grew up in Canada. I love Lao content thereβs not much out there. I havenβt been back yet but I plan to go. I donβt like how itβs Laos and you have to pay Chinese currency. Itβs no longer Laos. Itβs China. They are taking over and claiming that as their land. Makes tourism pay more to visit Laos in that area. Corruption is a main key in losing our country. Just like Cambodia. Also they build on the nicest parts of Laos and claim Laos land. I think itβs so sad.
Hi Natπβ€οΈthis is my first time that I came across your channel. I find that your channel is very educational, especially to younger generation whom donβt have opportunity to explore Northern part of their own country. I just hope people who watched your clips can segregate and see the difference of how itβs being managed in Northern part of Laos. This is Laos country, my question is; why they using Chinese currency? Iβm pretty sure majority of people would have the same question. Thanks Nat for sharing this videoπenjoy your adventure and be safe out there !
Hi Nat, love your vid. I am fr Hanoi. Do you have plan to visit Vietnam? Ha Long bay, Sapa, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Da nang, Nha Trang…
From Thailand I love you Laos π§‘π§‘π§‘πππ
Très beau reportage,merci
Be very careful the Chinese ATM can copy your credit cards they can stolen your money too
Be careful Nat, this place is home to many Chinese scammers and mainland criminals who are escaping the government there. In fact these development is an attempt by CCP to enroach into other countries to extend their power and influence especially to Chinese diaspora at the expense of the locals.
Wow, what an eye-opener.
As you said, like a country within a country: their rules, their money, their expensive prices, their architecture, have to show your ID to see your own country.
This makes me sad for some reason. π’
I used to stay in GT for a year back in 2016-17 and it was totally different from now. It wasnβt locked as itβs now.
I used this road from Huai xai to GT hundreds of times⦠sweet memories
Sabaidee Nat, Iβm from Laos π±π¦ but live in USA πΊπΈ. Its very sad to see our country got took over by China π¨π³ π’
This place reminds me a little of Phu Quoc Vietnam
Same type of development with mostly vacant buildings
It's quite bizarre like a Chinese ghost city. Beautiful structures with no people. It doesnβt feel right to me. Thanks for posting this!
F China
Those fcuker gave Asia ppl bad named.
I like your Nat,thank you for sharing β€
U realize how many girls get kidnapped, and rxped and murdered there right?
The train is for kidnapping.
The roads are for kidnapping.
The airports are for kidnapping. And drug trafficking and human trafficking. Wake up! Or stop being corrupt!
Those big buildings are human cages.
I don't understand ur brains! How can u not see what china is doing?
Well, are you going to say that the day the train opened was the day Lao economy collapsed. Look at the Laotian now, everyone is longing to get out of the country, what a sad life. There are many reasons contributing to Lao economy collapsing but one of them is the debt from the train. Laotians have never been this poor before maybe the same situation as in 1975 – 1980 when the first communist took over.
By the way βTob chatβ or βcalled-centerβ is con jobs, what kind of government supporting con jobs? Iβm afraid that one day Laotian will not know the difference good and evil. Sad when you have to con people to make a living
The real story is Zao Wei the owner of this land is Mr. Gangster, he has Burmese rebels to back him up as he is their sponsor in exchange of moving drugs around. There are reasons why so many Burmese in the zone. Just in case nobody knew, Zao Wei was chased out of Burma. There are human trafficking in the zone, con center, drug making, and Zao Wei said that he does not know what is going on in the zone because it is too big. Another thing, Zao Wei and Lao corrupted government chased out the indigenous people (the Khmu) and took their lands. Most of those people are probably death from staving already. And can you believe it, the Lao gov made Mr. Gangster the Lao hero and required people to worship him. If you ask the locals, they will tell you that there are dead bodies floating out of the zone everyday AND they just told the locals to hear nothing; see nothing.
Thanks for the show, Nat. It looks very sad, you can't even use Laotian kip in your country π It reminds me of Bokor Hill and Sihanoukville in Cambodia, I visited 5 years ago which I felt like I lost in China. I heard Boten, Laos has the same issue – A China town instead of Laos town. I feel sorry for your country and other countries nearby. You can't choose neighbors just as you can't choose close relatives.
Great information and a lot of details. This is more how it is like when you are visiting new countries. You will run into a lot of unexpected.
amazing. this is journalism. I wish i was on this adventure with you lol
you should of went during the night time. thats where the real adventure is
Did you say: "The King's Roman Casino"??? And you're a former Buddhist monk right??? Well… some contradiction there isn't there.
Thank you for sharing your trip. Actually I like to visit golden triangle Laos side.
Itβs very few information on YouTube. Itβs really helpful clip.
Wandering sisters Moe
Chinese are bosses; Laotian are labors. Few decades later: Lao is China's territory
