We traveled to Vang Vieng in Laos to take a look at this village which use to be a celebration vacation spot. This was the place you may hop in a tube and go down the river to get wasted on rum, beer, and mushrooms. We came upon that fortunately issues have modified.
Btw, the climb is doable, however they are saying you are able to do it in 25 minutes and if you’re not skilled I might take 1 hour a technique. We suggest it, We love that we did it however, we in all probability do it by no means once more 🙂

Amazing viewpoint but they are not big on safety there clearly. I'd be scared to death doing that but the view was amazing. Noona did really well putting on a brave face for the camera but understandably less than happy with the real possibility of a substantial freefall 😂🤣 😂 Bless her, she did really well. I'm thinking the 'Never Again' on the thumbnail was in regard to the climb and that the town should always be on the agenda even though it's not the same any more 😂🤣😂. Very clever Mr Chai. Cheers champs, top video. 🤩
Thanks for visiting Laos
I really enjoyed Vang Vieng 18 years ago. It was so peaceful ! Thanks for sharing 👍
Greetings from France 🙏🏻
Great sweaty
Beautiful scenery and very brave of you to climb the mountain!
Lol the zoom in on Noona fanning away the flies was priceless. Thanks for showing me this, I was very interested in hiking to this viewpoint when I finally make it to Laos… Looks a little challenging for me. Also I gotta thank you for always including the prices when editing! Safe travels Chai!
FYI the vehicle you are driving is not a 'moped' unless I am wrong and you need to pedal it like a bicycle until the motor is cranked enough ,fires up and starts; hence the name 'mo-ped' . We call these motorbikes or 'motorsike' here in SE Asia, ..the main alternative two wheel vehicle being the 'scooter' ,in the style of Vespa, Lambretta. and the now many other makers which dominate the style.
wow… respect hoor hoe dat jullie helemaal naar de top geklommen zijn….maarre… prachtig uitzicht… en die motorcycle… hoe hebben ze die naar de top kunnen brengen 😲
Was there about 20 years ago. Would not go again now.
I'm watching from myanmar ❤❤.i really love your traveling video on youtube ❤
Merry Christmas in advance!!
I hope they fixed the bridge for the safety of everyone.
Suggest you travel to Vieng Xai (also Vieng Xay, Vieng Sai) is a district and town in Hua Phan Province. The town is located on Route 6, 30 Km from Sam Neua (Province capital) and 55 km from the Vietnam/Laos border in Na Meo.
I want to try the tubing! This winter I plan to visit Vietnam, Lao, Malaysia and Indonesia for the first time!
🎉 Amazing video sir
I wish you have good view from this video 🎉
Wow a big adventure 🤩 – the Pizza 🍕 looked amazing & stunning views ✔️👋✌️😎🙏 Thanks my friend
Lovely scenes of this beautiful laos village but not a fan of trekking and the main thing which irritates me is food, vegetarian food very hard to get.
Breathtaking scenery. I would definitely do the hot air balloon but the steps and path up to the Silver Cliff looks too unstable and risky for my 62 year old ankles.
that path you climbed up looks like a ankle snapper with all the added rocks and shear cliff drops of 100s of meters…
Wow guys! All the reasons I hate hiking were in this video!🤣🤣🤣 But I admire your efforts!
My first time in Laos i had no idea Vang Vieng existed. My friend took me there and it left a lasting impression on me. One of the most beautiful and most fun place on the planet, especially if you love the outdoors and beautiful breathtaking sceneries. And you're adventurous.
I live in the US, there's no place in the US as beautiful and as fun. 5:37 6:10
Thank you for a great video, stay champ 👌
Oooh wow, Chai, did not expect that! 😅🥰 Really beautiful and magestic views! Thank you 🙏🙏
Headed here in October. Going to make the climb so your video gives me adequate warnings. 😅
Vang Vieng has become a major package tour destination for koreans and chinese over the last 10 years. Since the train opened more and more of the uncontrolled development is chinese. I have live here 20 years and IMHO it was a far nicer, more natural and unspolit area during the backpacker era up to about 2010.
I love SE Asia, but those super touristy spots with inflated prices and only foreign visitors? Naah thanks, enjoy.
"This village which use to be a party destination."
And that's a good thing it used to be a party destination. It really should never be anymore. And I geninuely hope nobody goes to this place as a party destination.
Alcohol is a big no-go here.
"Vang Vieng is NOT The Same Anymore"
Good.
I think it was 2009 when I visited and the tubing and party scene was pretty crazy to be honest. Many foreigners there bragged about drinking nonstop for weeks and months straight. It was a lot of tubing, booze buckets and Friends reruns lol
And now unfortunately Vang Vieng is back with the Bad Rep again . Hopefully that means less knuckleheads But not a tourism loss that hurts the locals . Knee jerk responses of Don't Go to Vang Vieng or even Laos are not based on actual thought . Just avoid the moonshine and even just don't drink cocktails if you are unsure .
Thank you for this video. My wife and I want to visit for Tet 2025 and your video is giving me great information. Are ATM's widely available, please?
I also enjoy night markets; if given the opportunity, I'd suggest you visit the night market in Hoan Kiem, Ha Noi, Viet Nam, Friday to Sunday.
superb video
I was afraid that it had gotten worse, but less tourists is definitely better!
Love your videos! When you rented scooters or cars in Laos or Thailand, did you have an international driving permit? We have Spanish and French which I would hope would be OK?
Vang Vieng countryside is beautiful. The town is a shit hole, very disappointing!
